Booking Terms
Effective date: 1 February 2026
1. Securing Your Session
1.1. Reservation: Dates are not held based on inquiries alone. A session is officially confirmed only upon receipt of a 20% non-refundable booking fee.
1.2. Payment Window: From the moment the booking request is accepted, the Client has 7 days to clear the booking fee. If the payment is not received within this timeframe, the date will be released and made available to other clients.
1.3. Confirmation: A booking is finalised only after the fee is cleared and a formal booking confirmation is issued by the Photographer.
2. Payment Methods and Schedule
2.1. Accepted Methods:
- Stripe: For secure online credit/debit card transactions.
- Invoice (Direct Bank Transfer): For payments to the Photographer’s designated New Zealand bank account.
- Cash: Accepted only by prior written agreement.
2.2. Balance Payments:
- Engagement and Proposal Photography: The balance is due 3 days before the session.
- Wedding and Elopement Photography: The balance is due 14 days after the event.
3. Travel and Out-of-Pocket Expenses
3.1. Auckland Area: No travel fees apply to sessions within the Auckland city metropolitan area.
3.2. Outside Auckland: For sessions outside this area, a travel fee of $1.00 per kilometre (calculated for the round trip from the Photographer’s base) will apply.
3.3. Reimbursable Costs:
The Client is responsible for all out-of-pocket expenses, including but not limited to:
- Parking fees.
- Road tolls.
- Venue entry fees. These costs will be itemised and added to the final invoice.
4. Locations and Permits
4.1. Logistics: The Photographer will handle the administrative logistics of obtaining necessary permits or permissions for the chosen shoot locations.
4.2. Costs: All costs associated with location permits, venue access fees, or photography licences are the sole responsibility of the Client and must be paid in advance.
5. Rescheduling and Changes
5.1. Standard Rescheduling (Engagement/Proposal): The Client is entitled to one free reschedule, provided at least 7 days’ notice is given.
5.2. Subsequent Changes: Any second or further rescheduling requests will incur a $30 administration fee.
5.3. Wedding/Elopement Date Changes: If the Client requests a change of date for a Wedding or Elopement booking more than 3 weeks after the initial confirmation, a 5% fee (based on the total quote) will be charged to cover the loss of potential bookings.
6. Punctuality and Overtime
6.1. Fixed Duration: The session will last for the duration specified in the selected package.
6.2. Lateness Policy: Time lost due to Client lateness will not be added to the end of the session. The Photographer’s schedule is fixed.
6.3. 30-Minute Cancellation: If the Client is more than 30 minutes late without prior notification, the Photographer reserves the right to cancel the session. In this event, all fees paid (booking fee and balance) are non-refundable.
6.4. Overtime Rate: If the session extends beyond the agreed time due to Client requests or delays, overtime will be charged at $100 per 30 minutes. Overtime is subject to the Photographer’s availability and the Client’s verbal consent on the day.
7. Client Cooperation
7.1. Briefing: For Proposal Photography, the Client must provide a clear plan/location map to the Photographer at least 48 hours in advance to ensure successful coverage.
7.2. Cooperation: The Photographer is not responsible for key individuals failing to appear or cooperate during the session, nor for images missed due to such lack of cooperation.
